PEEP TRIP

Exploring the urban texture of the city, The peep trip center is a space facility located in the Barbican area in London. Both psychological and physical training are taking place inside some mysterious floating buildings.

The water is the strongest relation between earth and space as it allows people to feel weightlessness and thus approximate gravity 0. Pushing the idea further it leads us to work with different chemical state of water. When liquid, it surrounds underwater volumes that house facilities of the training centre. When water is gas, it is the horizontal and vertical link between the underwater life and the urban context.

The materiality of the skin and the aerodynamism of the volumes, link the project to the Space matter of the program. The shaping orients the flow of the fog, concentrates it or diffuses it.

On the surface, people are walking on the street with different speed and density. The more they are, the more vibrations are created from their continuous steps. A captor receives the information and transfers it to an underwater ultrasonic system that creates fog.

The more people they are, the more there is fog. On one hand the movement of the city determines the visibility of the project and on the other hand the project regulates the landscape of the neighbourhood.
